Plastic egg faces

Appropriate Population:

  • Age 2 and up
  • Moderate delay, mild delay or age-appropriate language skills

 

Goal:

  • Identifying others’ emotions through their facial expressions 
  • Understanding emotions  

 

Steps:

  1. Draw eyes on the top part of the egg and a mouth on the bottom part to depict various facial expressions.
  2. Interchange the top and bottom part of the eggs to create different facial expressions.
  3. Identify the emotion the egg is feeling based on the facial expression. 

 

Step up: 

  • Discuss a time when the client has felt this emotion

 

Step down:

  • AHA to provide fixed choices when identifying emotions
