Picture guessing game

Appropriate Population: 

  • 3 years and up
  • Moderate to mild delay or age-appropriate cognitive and language abilities

 

Goal:

  • Answering inference questions
  • Building vocabulary

 

Steps:

  1. Select a category of words (zoo animals, farm animals, pets, clothing, fruits, vegetables etc)
  2. Create/Find picture cards with the target words
  3. Take turns picking a card and guessing the picture based on information from the other person.   

 

Step up: 

  • Include 2 or more different categories in the target words

 

Step down:

  • Provide more support and scaffolding.
