Sorting emotions

Appropriate Population:

  • Age 3 and up
  • Moderate delay, mild delay or age-appropriate cognitive and language skills

 

Goal:

  • Identifying others’ emotions 
  • Understanding emotions

         

Steps:

  1. Cut out the emotions flashcards from Emotions sort game PDF
  2. Place the emojis on the top row and take turns sorting the feelings words to match the emoji

 

Step up: 

  • Discuss a time when the client has felt this emotion

 

Step down:

  • AHA to provide fixed choices
